Course Description

Objectives of this course are to recognize and interpret landscape and soil profile information in the field and from soil maps, distinguish soil disorders, their attributes, and/or deficiencies, and suitability for hosting turfgrasses. Harness basic familiarity with soil properties and how they relate to soil management and productivity. Describe how physical and chemical properties of soil affect plant health, and select soil amendments to remedy soil chemical limitations and discover how best to sample soil and water; submit samples, choose appropriate specialty tests, and interpret reports.
