In 2009, five turfgrass pathologists from various parts of the United States joined forces to create a blog to update superintendents on problems occurring in their region.
Modeled after a YouTube website where five friends from around the country decided to get to keep in touch by posting one update per week, the Turf Diseases Blog sets out to update superintendents by providing weekly regional disease posts. In this case, turf pathologists from Penn State (John Kaminski), NC State (Lane Tredway), Wisconsin (Jim Kerns), Kansas State (Megan Kennelly), and UC Riverside (Frank Wong) provide updates Monday-Friday on current problems in their region.
