Sara Hendershot recently graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Science from Messiah College. She acquired the love of agriculture from the dairy farm where she was born and raised. Hendershot decided to join this program because, as she explained, “There is a limit to what can be experienced in a classroom, the majority of learning occurs in the field.”
She is interested in helping others adopt sustainable agriculture practices nationally. She wants to be involved with improving policy to aid family farms because they are “the backbone of our agricultural system.” Hendershot worked in an organic farm and researched the energy flow in bio-intensitive vegetable production.
