Patrizia Rollo

Patrizia Rollo is a Ph.D. student in Agronomy with a focus on the turfgrass pathology. She is originally from Italy where she earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Bari in Forestry Science she went on to complete her Master of Science degree in Landscape Design and Management at the University of Pisa. During her MS degree she became interested in the management of turfgrass systems.

In an effort to build her knowledge in turfgrass, she completed an internship at a Golf Course in Tuscany which led to the development of her MS project. In February 2015, she took her project to Las Cruces, NM where she worked as an exchange student at the New Mexico State University for six months focusing on turfgrass drought stress management. During these months she also had the opportunity to attend several conferences where she was able to meet turfgrass professors and researchers from across the United States. This ultimately led her interest to The Pennsylvania State University where she works in Dr. Kaminski’s Turfgrass Management Lab focusing on a project about a potentially new disease of annual bluegrass referred to as Pythium patch.
