Thesis Requirements:

All master's theses must be submitted electronically by the announced submission deadline for the semester or summer session. Unless your advisor prefers only an electronic copy, the student should provide a bound copy to the advisor.

It is the responsibility of the graduate student to arrange for the reproduction and binding bound copies. Additional information can be obtained from the THESIS GUIDE provided by the Office of Thesis and Graduate School Publications Office, 303 Kern Graduate Building.

The Graduate Writing Center

A service sponsored by the Graduate School is the Graduate Writing Center, which provide trained, friendly and free peer consulting for all graduate students of all levels of writing ability.

Writers Schedule appointments for one-on-one collaborative discussions about projects on which students are currently working.  These interactions are intended to generate productive feedback and to improve writing and critical thinking abilities in general.  Appointments can be made in advance by calling the Graduate Student Association (GSA) staff desk at 814-865-4211.

Penn State Thesis Template provides a Microsoft Word template to assist Penn State graduate students and Schreyer Honors College students with writing a thesis.  Useful templates include layouts for Penn State University doctoral and master's theses and University Scholar's papers which conform to Thesis Guide regulations.  This site can be accessed on the Web at
