'Laser-Sharp Vision' on American Scientist

The evolution of the Roots lab's 3-D imaging platform is featured in the American Scientist magazine.

The American Scientist Jan/Feb 2014 issue featured the invention of laser ablation tomography in "Laser-Sharp Vision" by Catherine Clabby.

Laser ablation tomography can be used to reconstruct small 3-D biological structures, or other materials, at high resolution, and the technique was pioneered by Ben Hall and Dr. Jonathan Lynch at Penn State.
