Students in the Department of Plant Science participate in a variety of clubs and student organizations that enhance their college experience.
To stimulate agronomic interest among students, and foster a spirit of cooperation through wider acquaintances, and mutual friendships among students and the University community.
An organization for all university students interested in plants, gardening, and landscaping. It is the goal of the club to educate both its members and the public on sound horticultural practices, new plants, and new techniques. The largest event that the club conducts throughout the year is its annual Horticulture Show. Other events throughout the year include spring flower sales, trips, guest speakers, and community service.
Penn State Turfgrass Club is designed to provide an educational forum for turfgrass students. The club is open to two-year technical program, bachelor's degree, and graduate degree students. The club sponsors seminars by leading professionals in the turfgrass industry, field trips, golf tournaments, and fund-raising activities.
The purpose of the Weed Science Team is to compete in the Northeastern Collegiate Weed Science Contest. This contest provides an educational experience from which students in the northeastern universities can broaden their applied skills in weed science.
