Stephanie Klein awarded ASPB early career contributor

Stephanie Klein, a Ph.D. candidate in the Roots Lab, was recently awarded a Special Award from the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) in recognition of her service as an early career representative. In the previous five years, Stephanie has served on numerous committees within (ASPB) starting as an Ambassador and soon appointed to be the Graduate Student Representative on the Membership committee. During that time, Stephanie worked with ASPB leadership to expand leadership training opportunities within ASPB for early career members by redesigning the Ambassador program and supporting expanding early career representative roles on other ASPB committees. Stephanie is now the Director of Culture in the Early Career Plant Scientists Council and will continue to address the needs of early career members, particular in this very challenging time as we adapt to a new normal created by Covid-19.

Congrats, Steph!
