The Roots Lab is collaborating with three previous Ph.D. students in a project to develop drought tolerant rice.

Roots Lab alumni Phanchita Vejchasarn (Thailand), Amelia Henry (The Philippines), and Patompong Saengwilae (Thailand) are collaborating with Jonathan Lynch (UK) on a Newton Fund Sustainable Rice Programme project to improve the drought tolerance of rice by focusing on improving roots. All collaborators met recently at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). See the video describing the project at the Newton Fund website.
