Annual Bluegrass Management

Annual bluegrass is a common weed found on golf courses. Our lab focuses on the cultural and chemical management annual bluegrass.

This long-term field study is designed to investigate the influence of Fe and nitrogen rates and different PGRs on annual bluegrass populations. The trial began in 2010 and is ongoing.

Methiozolin is a promising new postemergent herbicide that is capable of selectively removing annual bluegrass from various turfgrass species. Various research projects investigate the safety and efficacy of this novel herbicide on golf course putting greens.
