Research Projects

Turfgrass pathology is a primary focus of our lab. Since 1998, Dr. Kaminski has been involved in the identification of four new pests associated with golf course turfgrass.

Annual bluegrass is a common weed found on golf courses. Our lab focuses on the cultural and chemical management annual bluegrass.

Golf course managers strive for consistently fast and smooth playing surfaces on putting greens while endeavoring to maintain quality in the turfgrass stand.

Recovery from winterkill can be difficult when temperatures are cold in the spring. This undergraduate research project looked to identify commercially available bentgrass cultivars capable of germinating at lower temperatures.
