Devon Carroll, MS student in Agronomy, receives the Western Seed Association's President's Award.
Master of Science student Devon Carroll was awarded the Western Seed Association President's Scholarship. The Western Seed Association was founded in 1899 as an organization devoted to addressing industry issues and facilitating seed business. The organization distributes 12 scholarships each year to students pursuing education in seed related studies. One of the scholarship recipients is nominated by the Western Seed Association president, who is currently Mr. Fred Mohr of Reading, PA.
On December 6th, Mr. Mohr presented Devon with the award and check in the amount of $2,500. Devon was selected by Mr. Mohr because of her academic performance and thesis research in bentgrass seed germination and establishment. Devon is currently working on a Master of Science in agronomy under Dr. John Kaminski and Dr. Peter Landschoot. She completed her undergraduate degree in Turfgrass Science last December. She was actively involved in the Turf Club, Horticulture Club, Ag Advocates, undergraduate research, and a number of internships and experiential learning opportunities.
