In this section, we share some of the results of our management work with malting barley, which is used as a feedstock for the craft beer industry.
We are conducting both winter and spring malting barley evaluations for yield and conducting post-harvest analysis for plumpness, protein and additional characteristics that are of interest to the maltster.
In addition to variety evaluations, our group conducts management trials to evaluate impacts of factors such as fungicides, N and seeding rates on malting barley production.
