Course Description
This course will provide an overview of the concepts and methods prescribed for the evaluation and care of trees on golf courses. Emphasis will be placed on maintaining the long-term health of large trees. Major topic areas will include methods for characterization of tree health, diagnosing problems in trees, the influence of environmental factors on tree health, and the assessment of hazard trees. Proper pruning techniques and factors to consider when making decisions regarding long-term tree care in urban areas will be discussed.
