Our research focus is to investigate and advance novel technologies and solutions with the goal of improving the sustainability of current vegetable production systems and enhancing the nutritional quality of vegetables. Our research projects span the Water-Food-Health Energy Nexus to include transdisciplinary collaboration with Plant Biology, Food Science, Agricultural & Biological Engineering and Engineering Design and Innovation.
We work with a range of vegetable crops, growing systems such as soil-based, soilless (hydroponic), open field, protected (High tunnel) and controlled environment (greenhouse) using organic and conventional production methods. Our research aims to inform and advance Extension efforts for vegetable growers to improve both yield and quality.
